I often get asked about my studio. Where is it? What it looks like?

Well I was making some photos for a future magazine article and decided

I would take one to help answer the question.

OK, not really.

I had set up the time delay shutter, run up the “high altitude” tripod.

Then when I checked the photos…

I had missed the subject I was trying to photograph.

But what I did get was a great photo to show a part of the studio.

So here it is. This is where the magic happens…

I wanted to go see it in its current home and make a photo for the record.

Here it is in place in the home.

I think it looks great with the tall flower arrangement added to the bowl.

My brother, David, is a great craftsman.

Each year he creates something handmade for each family member as a Christmas gift. It is always an exciting time as we open his gifts and see what he has created that year.

This year he custom made spoons. What beautiful works of art they are. He is a cabinet maker… but as you can see his work is not the regular cabinets you may find in some store…yes, they are works of art and one of a kind.

Another 777 (just smaller)

I was asked to make something smaller in size,

to give as a gift to a Marine

as he was leaving an artillery unit here atCampLejeune.

The unit fires 777 Howitzers.

I had already designed a pretty good crossed cannon version of the 777. (you can see it in an earlier blog)

So, I decided to alter that design

and bring it into a different price range for this occasion.

With that said…The Hand Held 777!

Check out this film from a blacksmith in Finland.

He uses old riviting tools to assist his hot forging. It is a great idea and his work is very creative.

Not only is it interesting, it beautifully made!

I received information about a new ad campaign to support learning and studying the arts. The College for Creative Studies in Detroit has a way of looking at things differently. They are using the anti drug style to make the point of promoting the arts. Check out these photos.
